Gangeshwar Mahadev
"The place where Gangeshwar Mahadev is situated was once an uninhabited area surrounded by agriculture farms and forest. But today, it is one of the most populous and colonized areas with Lord Gangeshwar Mahadev in the root.
Previously, there was open land in the Northside of where the Gangeshwar Mahadev Temple is located. Kids from surrounding areas of Rander and Adajan (Surat) used to come to play games in this area. One day, on 29-10-1999, when the children were playing cricket, the cricket ball came rolling to the place where the present Gangeshwar Mahadev is situated.
While searching for the ball, a kid discovered that there was a snakeskin near the ball and he was terrified and called other kids for help. When they reached, they saw that the snakeskin was half outside and half below the land. They slowly started digging the soil to take out the snakeskin. While digging when they found the end of the snakeskin, they saw that there was a circular stone-like figure inside.
When the people started digging out more and found the whole sculpture, it was the first time that Lord Gangeshwar Mahadev was sighted and since then worshiped as a swayambhu (self-proclaimed) Shivalinga.
